The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) promotes one week every September as “National Assisted Living Week.” This year, the week is September 11-17.
I know this is not a huge event on the American public’s radar. However, it is worth your time and effort. Family caregivers and those searching for senior care will take notice.
And it certainly fits in with our strategies for “reality-based” marketing. The best way to promote the week is to explain, demonstrate and share your care and expertise.
NCAL Offers Their Support & Resouces
NCAL offers a (royalty-free) graphic, and has promised a planning guide and product catalog (the better get moving).
Position Your Philosophy, Introduce A Family-Oriented Service
The NCAL graphic is upbeat, contains emotional text and should support your senior care philosophy. So put it to good use.
- Add it to a website update.
- Post it to social networks.
- Include it in a press release.
Place the graphic with photo(s) and/or video that provides evidence of your residents and their families sharing enjoyable times together. This will demonstrate your agreement with NCAL that family is important and that “Family Is Forever.”
In addition, I feel this theme creates a fabulous opportunity to introduce a video calls service between residents and family members who do not live locally. If you have a bit of technical acumen, this can be a “new” service with little cost to you, and that people will value and talk about.
